Nicolás Iván González is an Argentine professional footballer who currently plays as a forward for Fiorentina in Serie A and for the Argentina national team.

Nicolás González, 24, was born on April 6, 1998, in Belen de Escobar, a Buenos Aires suburb. The left-footed Gonzalez quickly rose through the ranks of one of Argentina’s top clubs.

Although River Plate and CA Platense expressed interest, the young forward chose Argentinos Juniors, the old club of Fernando Redondo, Juan Roman Riquelme, and Diego Maradona. González made his professional debut for Argentinos Juniors in a 2015–16 Copa Argentina defeat to Deportivo Laferrere of Primera C Metropolitana in July 2016. He had spent almost 10 years in the club’s junior system.

He made his Primera B Nacional debut on August 28th against San Martin before scoring his first of four goals in the 2016–17 season on April 23rd against Atlético Paraná. González made a total of twenty appearances in 2016–17, a season in which Argentinos were promoted to Argentina’s Primera División. In his maiden start in the top level, he scored the first goal in a loss to Belgrano.
