Guendouzi began his career at the Paris Saint-Germain academy when he was six years old. In 2014, he left Paris to join the Lorient academy. He was promoted to the first team in 2016 after representing the Lorient reserve squad. Guendouzi made his Lorient debut on October 15, 2016, in a 1–2 defeat over Nantes in Ligue 1. During his first season of 2016–17, he appeared nine times in all competitions as Lorient was demoted to the second division at the end of the season. Guendouzi joined Premier League team Arsenal for an unknown fee, reported to be in the region of £7 million-plus bonuses, on July 11, 2018, during the summer transfer window. Unai Emery, the head coach, said: “He is a gifted young player who has piqued the interest of a number of clubs. He has a lot of talent and received valuable first-team experience with Lorient last season. He is eager to learn and progress, and he will play a key role in our first-team lineup “.. Guendouzi made his Premier League debut on August 12, 2018, in Arsenal’s season-opening match against defending champions Manchester City, where he had the most touches for his team with 72. They were defeated 0–2 in the encounter. After an assist from Alexandre Lacazette, Guendouzi scored his first professional goal on 4 October 2018, completing out the scoring in Arsenal’s 3–0 away triumph over Qaraba with a low drive from just inside the penalty area. Guendouzi came off the bench in the Europa League final against Chelsea on May 29, 2019, in which Arsenal lost 1-4. Due to a history of concerns with his “attitude and general conduct,” Guendouzi was barred from Arsenal training and left out of the club’s match-day squads on June 20, 2020, following a post-match altercation with Brighton’s Neal Maupay.

Arsenal announced on October 5, 2020, that Guendouzi would be loaned out to Hertha BSC for the 2020–21 season. Guendouzi made his Bundesliga debut on November 1, 2020, in a 1–1 draw against VfL Wolfsburg. Guendouzi is a French player who was born in a suburb of Paris. He has played for France at all levels up to and including the France U20s. Guendouzi, who is of Moroccan descent, was invited by Morocco manager Hervé Renard in 2017 to switch allegiances and play for the national side. Guendouzi was called up to the French senior team for the first time on September 2, 2019, to replace the injured Paul Pogba in UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying matches against Albania and Andorra. He was, however, an unused substitute in both games. On September 1, 2021, Guendouzi was summoned to the France squad to replace the injured Corentin Tolisso in World Cup Qualification matches against Bosnia & Herzegovina, Ukraine, and Finland. He made his debut against Finland in a World Cup qualifying on November 16, 2021. In a 5–0 friendly triumph over South Africa on March 29, 2022, he scored his first goal for France.
