Mount began playing football when he was a toddler. He began playing under 6 football in local divisions when he was only four years old. He had his education at the Portsmouth, Southhampton, and Chelsea academies.

In 2006, he joined the Chelsea academy. During the 2013-14 season, he made his under-18 debut. In 2016-17, he was a member of the Chelsea U18 team that won the U18 Premier League.
