Luka Romero began his football career in 2011 at the Penya Esportiva Sant Jordi academy in Ibiza. In 2011, he had a failed trial with FC Barcelona.

He could not be signed because he was under the age of ten and did not live in the area. After four years of training with Sant Jordi, he signed an eight-year contract with RCD Mallorca in Spain. Romero scored 230 goals in just 108 outings with the club’s academy.
