Valencian footballer born on May 25, 1995, in Pedreguer (Alicante)  is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a left-back for LaLiga club Valencia, whom he captains and the Spain national team. He had to travel thousands of kilometers by automobile as a child from his home in Pedreguer to the Ciutat Esportiva in Paterna, where he was developing as a footballer and transitioning from a striker to a left-back.

Gayà’s contract with the club was prolonged on May 8, 2015, with a €50 million buyout clause, until 2020. He agreed to a new deal until 2023 in May 2018, with his release clause increasing to €100 million.
